Wetsuits & Rash Guards
Wetsuits and rashguards keep you warm, protect your skin from the sun, and help prevent stings and scrapes in the water.
Anyone who loves being on the water knows the sun is enemy number one. If you’ll be snorkeling on the surface for a while, protect your skin with a long-sleeve, hooded rashguard. Planning to dive deeper? The water can get cold, so a good wetsuit will keep you warm and comfortable. After all, we want every diver to enjoy their time in the water.

Whether you’re snorkeling, scuba diving, freediving, or spearfishing, Divers Direct has the perfect wetsuit or rashguard for you. As divers ourselves, we know the right gear makes all the difference. Our team is here to help you choose the wetsuit or rashguard that fits your needs and ensures a great day in the water.
Why Do You Need a Wetsuit?
Wetsuits keep you warm and protect your skin from stings, cuts, and abrasions while diving. They act as a barrier against cold water and underwater hazards like reefs and jellyfish. Always check water conditions and temperature before choosing your wetsuit.
Choosing the Right Wetsuit
Wetsuits come in different thicknesses and styles depending on where and how you dive:
Wetsuit Thickness Guide:
- Tropical (84°F+): 0.5mm - 2mm
- Warm (80-84°F): 2mm - 3mm
- Moderate (73-79°F): 3mm - 5mm
- Mild (66-72°F): 5mm - 7mm
- Cold (<66°F): We recommend the nearest dock or boat deck
Wetsuit Styles:
- Shorty Wetsuits: Covers torso, upper arms & thighs; great for snorkeling & warm water.
- Two-Piece Wetsuits: Separate top & bottom for flexible fit; can be worn together or apart.
- Full Wetsuits: Full body coverage from neck to wrists & ankles; most popular choice for scuba diving.
- Spearfishing Wetsuits: Full wetsuits designed for flexibility and camouflage in hunting environments.
Fit is key. Men’s and women’s wetsuits are cut differently, and our experts can help you find the right one for you.
What is a Rashguard?
Rashguards are lightweight tops made from lycra or performance fabrics. They protect your skin from the sun, stinging creatures, and other irritants. Rashguards offer minimal warmth but are great for layering under a wetsuit or wearing alone while snorkeling, surfing, or in warm shallow waters.
Wetsuit Care Tips
Take good care of your wetsuit to make it last:
- Rinse it with fresh water after every use.
- Hang to dry in the shade.
- Use wetsuit shampoo occasionally to remove odors.
- Never put neoprene in the dryer; it will ruin the material.
