I am two specialties away from master diver and wanted a compass that was easier to use for the PADI Navigation course...very happy with this compass and the retractor. Funny story...learning to use the compass in my front yard and thought...I will navigate a rectangle around my metal Ford Taurus. That did not work...close to the metal compass was way off from north...learning...and laughing. Good product!
