After numerous dives where I wanted to signal my buddy but I couldn't I bought two of these. They work like a charm. So simple to use and easily heard by me and my buddy. So simple to use my 14 year old daughter was able to use it shortly after getting her certification. With the signal device on the tank it keeps your BCD uncluttered. Just remember when on a dive boat to let the crew know to remove them.

These are really nice to have. You can pull it far for a louder sound, or just hold it in you hand to tap for a quick "hey look at this" signal. Just remember to rinse it off after saltwater diving as to not compromise the rubber.

The tank bangers will work best on cylinders starting at 50cf and up
