I was really looking forward to buy this, and anxiously awaited for it to be released, which was just a couple months ago. I think I will change the rating to Excellent, as soon as i know they have improved the very new Oceanic+ App. But it does already impress no doubt. I bought it mostly to have the iphone case, though having the computer is a great addition. I knew that GoPros underwater photos are lacking, and of course the Iphone camera and video are amazing. And who wants to transfer photos from a separate device when in this case the media is already on your phone, and linked to my MacBook. So convenient. The first thing to note is the thing is built like a tank - like military quality. The last thing one wants to do is have a water leak and destroy your $1,200 phone. The build quality is amazing, and the onboard vacuum pump and pre-dive system check inspire great confidence. I took it to 30 meters/100 feet and no issues. I think it's rated for twice that. It's easy to setup and learn with the intuitive controls for camera and dive computer operation. I would like a paper manual as well, but I'm old school. Using the iphone and the Oceanic+ App produces amazing photos and videos. way-way better than anything I have seem from a consumer product. The Dive Master I went with was also a professional photographer, and he was amazed. It does require you to open up the media in the App post dive and once again click the auto correct icon for each photo, which if you take a lot of photos, can be tiresome. I suggested they allow you to perform this in a batch -the company is looking at that. I'm going diving in Cuba in March, and i'm excited to take photos there, So if I like it so much , why did i give it the second highest rating. Well, I did have a couple freezes with the App. Within days Oceanic released a new updated app with bug fixes, but I have not used it yet. They took the issues I raised seriously, and responded with emails and action. I just don't know if the bugs are solved. It's a common issue with all sorts of just released products, so I will give them the benefit of any doubt. The data and log on the computer - linked to the photos is a cool feature. It's all in a graphical format which is way more fun to look at than a tiny normal dive computer. And the stats are attached to each saved photo . I am confident that they will get there pretty soon. Then I'll see if I can upgrade the review to excellent from very good.
