The first stage features two high-pressure and four low-pressure ports. Internally, the first stage features a high-pressure valve seat that has been manufactured using a secret method and consisting of three different materials, giving it longer durability.

The second stages offer the unique, patented VAD system (Vortex Assisted Design). This system eases breathing at all depths and is unrivaled on today's market. The working principle is very simple: air coming from the hose passes through the second stage valve and is conveyed directly to the mouthpiece through the by-pass tube. There is a 'vortex' movement in the airflow inside the by-pass tube. Whenever this swirl occurs, the core of the vortex creates a low-pressure area. This low pressure helps keep the second stage diaphragm down while inhaling, thus increasing regulator sensitivity. Regulators with the VAD system offer improved performance and allow for very natural breathing.

How it Works – Returns/Exchanges

Divers Direct will gladly refund the purchase price or exchange any item purchased from us that is defective, the wrong size, color, style, fit, or does not meet your expectations for any reason. (Excludes all shipping charges).

We accept returns and exchanges at any of our retail locations OR via delivery to our fulfillment center regardless of how or where you made your original purchase with us.

Please call 800-DIVE-USA to check availability for all exchanges. All refunds will be made to the original source of payment.  Refund checks will take 15-30 days to process.

1. Please send returns in ORIGINAL and UNUSED condition. Merchandise that is not in new condition or purchased more than 30 days ago may be subject to a restocking fee of 20% of the purchase price or may not be accepted. There is a 20% restocking fee for all returned camera and photo accessories, and all Brownies Explorers.

Bathing suits are items of personal hygiene and it is a Divers Direct policy not to accept returns or exchanges without the original tags still on the suit. Bathing suits may be returned for manufacturer’s defects within 30 days of purchase with the original receipt.

Mares Shipping Policy: All Mares products on our website are to be shipped only to U.S., Canada, and the Caribbean. Orders with Mares products to countries outside of the U.S., Canada, and the Caribbean will not be processed and may be canceled.
