Scuba Certification Step-1. Choose your Scuba Class from Divers Direct!

STEP-1 - Decide which Scuba Certification Program best fits your needs!

If you are local, and would like to complete your entire scuba course and receive your scuba certification with our instructors, come into any of our four instruction facilities located right inside our Florida Dive Shops: Orlando, West Palm Beach, Dania Beach (Ft. Lauderdale) or Florida City. At each of our four locations we offer scuba classes with schedules designed to meet the varied time needs of our customers. Visit our Classes and Events Calendar to view our currently scheduled classes. You can also arrange private, family and group scuba classes that will be conducted on your specific scheduling needs.

Do you live out-or-state, or are you in state but have time commitments that preclude you from participating in our on-site classroom sessions? No problem! You can take advantage of our online eLearning option to complete the academic portion of your scuba instruction program before joining us for your in-water scuba skills training and Open Water dives.

Divers Direct also accepts referrals from other scuba instruction facilities. You can complete your academic and scuba skills training where you live and then come to sunny Florida to complete your Open Water dives with our instructors. Divers Direct can assist you in completing all your in-water training - scuba skills AND Open Water dives - if you desire.

Scuba Step-2. Get your Open Water student Material for you Scuba Class and start learning more about Scuba Diving!

STEP-2 - Register for the scuba class!

Once you have chosen or arranged the scuba class schedule that best fits your needs, the next step is to register for your scuba class with Divers Direct and receive your Open Water student materials. If you choose to take your entire scuba course with Divers Direct your student materials are included in the scuba course registration fee. If you choose our eLearning option then your student materials will be online, this last option will be included in the online course fee.

Scuba Step-3. Almost There: Complete your exam from your previous readings of the Open Water student Material and get your Certification!

STEP-3 - Prepare for your first scuba adventure!

Before your first scuba class session you will need to read your student manual and complete the required "homework". This way when you meet your instructor, you will have knowledge and understanding of the subject. Your "Homework" usually consists of answering questions at the end of each chapter and viewing video selections that illustrate the concepts and skills you will be learning in your scuba class. For students participating in our eLearning program, all homework, videos, quizzes and final exam are online.

You're almost Ready for your Underwater Experience! - Once you've completed the three steps from above, you'll be on your way to receiving your certification. Don't worry if you don't have your own diving equipment; student scuba equipment is included in the course tuition. All you'll need is your personal Mask, Fins, and Snorkel. Depending upon the water temperature when you take your course, a scuba wetsuit is recommended. Once you are Open-Water-Certified remember Divers Direct offers Specialty Courses for your convenience.
