Divers Direct is doing a fund raiser raffle to help a local avid diver from April 6th, 2009 to May 1st, 2009. Rob Murphy lost both legs as a result of a boating accident on January 9th, 2009. To read more about the accident visit the CBS 12 News Report
How can I help? All you'll need to do is enter a raffle by buying tickets from April 6th, 2009 to May 1st, 2009. The Drawing for prizes will take place on May 2nd, 2009
What Can I Win? There will be 5 lucky winners. Below are the prizes:
-1st Place: Full Diving Package( BC, Regulator, Octo and Dive Computer) valued at $1300.
-2nd Place: 54 inch Sea Hornet Wood Gun valued at $500.
-3rd Place: Oceanic Regulator valued at $500.00.
-4th and 5th Place: Tusa Dive Mask value at $70.00
How Much are the tickets? The tickets are $25.00 for one or $100 for 5 tickets. 100% of the collected funds will go right into Rob Murphy's Recovery Trust to use at his sole discretion.

How is he doing now? He said he will continue to dive as often as possible and it will be easier when he gets specially modified dive prosthetics. The first time he got in the water after the accident he said "It's so great it's such a boost for my spirits after spending so much time in the in the hospital laid up at home. It was so great to get back out there do it again, this is what I love." He's also planning to continue his work with dive flag awareness and a new handicap scuba training program.
