TopDawg Sony DVD Mini System

The new TOP DAWG/SONY DVD-308 System 2 offers all the same great features as the standard Top Dawg, but now in an external lighting system addition The versatile design and affordable price of the Top Dawg has made it our favorite underwater video housing among new shooters. The new SYSTEM 2 Kit is packaged with the Sony DVD-308 Camcorder.

This is a great entry-level system for someone starting out in video and has option for you to upgrade the system with a monitor back accessories.

This versatility allows you to upgrade your camera as your demand for image quality increases. Most other housings will only fit one camera and require a complete system replacement when a camera upgrade is necessary. The dual set of Top Dawg Mini Lights will provide brilliant color for all of your close-up images while minimizing the potential of distracting shadows from typical single light systems.

The Top Dawg is also very user friendly and secure. Your camera will slip into the housing on the spring loaded self locking camera tray. The camera-to-housing interface uses the Sony Remote Input or LANC plug for simple and quick control connection. The rear plate features double o-ring seals and simple rotary latches that draw the plate closed. This seal design is incredibly easy to maintain and avoids the finger-biting spring latches found on other systems.

The Top Dawg has electro-magnetic controls to keep the number of penetrations to a minimum and provide access to all major camera functions including digital stills. The controls are located just inboard from the hand grips allowing fingertip access while maintaining a solid shooting position. Optional accessories include the awesome 2.5 inch color Monitorback, Protective Port Cap & Color Correction Filters.

With a 1 Megapixel Advanced HAD CCD imager, 25x optical zoom, and a professional quality Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens, the camcorder delivers crisp, clean video that rivals MiniDV in overall quality. Best of all, you record directly on to 3-inch Dual-Layer DVD-R/W as well as DVD+R/W discs that can easily be viewed on most current DVD players and personal computers.
