This instruction option is ideal for those who are not able or prefer not to attend academic sessions at one of our store locations, but still would like to complete the in-water training and receive an Open Water Certification from a Divers Direct location in Florida. This course allows you to complete all of your academic study, take quizzes, and even complete the final exam….all from the comfort of your own home or office, at times that are convenient for you..
Overview
Your course is divided into three parts:• Academics – Your entire academic program is available online, 24/7/365. Throughout your academic study period, your progress will be monitored by our instructional staff, and our instructors will be available for consultation by e-mail or phone. Upon completion of the academic portion, you will print a Course Completion Referral form and schedule your in-water course dates.
• Confined Water – We typically schedule two to three pool sessions to instruct you on basic scuba skills and to make sure you feel comfortable and confident performing these new skills.
• Open Water - You will complete four open water dives over a two day period.

•Personal dive gear, to include mask, fins, snorkel and exposure protection (wetsuit) appropriate for the local conditions.
Important Information
•Some medical conditions will prevent you from diving. Some of the more common conditions are Asthma, Diabetes, Epilepsy and heart or lung conditions. Pregnancy is also a contraindication to diving. Some other medical conditions may also be a problem. If you are unsure about any specific condition, please contact us.• The minimum age to participate in this course is 13.
