Pelican Products Biography
Pelican Products is a manufacturer of virtually indestructible protective dry cases and waterproof diving lights. In fact, the company is so confident of their quality, they warrant for lifetime against nearly all perils with a few exceptions: Bear Attack, Shark Attack, and Children under 5 years old! There have been exceptions considered for the first two. The company will acknowledge you for surviving a bear or shark attack by replacing any damaged Pelican product. With regard to children under 5, Pelican is hard pressed to expect their products to survive such encounters!
Started in Southern California in1976 by Dave Parker, the first product manufactured was the Pelican float. Mr. Parker developed the product to mark his lobster traps. Mr. Parker then came upon the idea of a waterproof first aid kit for all of his boating friends. His friends didn’t care much about the contents of the first aid kit, but really liked the waterproof boxes and wanted more. He then developed the 3 C-Cell Sabre light which drew the interest of the US Military. This was the launching point for what is today the manufacturer of the world’s best waterproof protective cases and lights.
Now manufacturing for military, industrial, public service, and the commercial and sport diving industry, Pelican has grown to be the leader and benchmark name in protective cases and lights. A pelican product can be purchased and used with the confidence that the products are reliable, durable, and a good value.
