I am so pleased! Some friends here in the Keys talked me into buying a Riffe, and into buying a bit smaller gun than I was considering...but this Comp 1 as it's known, is SO accurate, I couldn't believe it...plenty of power for the kill shots on bigger fish. I hit the first one I aimed at, a legal hogfish, aka Hog Snapper. The gun's smaller profile made for less drag as I was swimming, this really paid off when the currents got rough!
The one thing I'd reccommend 1st, is that you buy a longer shock cord set up, and definitely add the third band if you're going for those shots outside of ten feet on larger fish, once you've become accustomed to loading the first two bands underwater.
The MAIN REASON I was told to buy the Riffe, is the fact that there's no metal on metal contact inr egard to the shaft and the gun itself, which is amazing and true.
As a result, the gun is so silent that you can shoot a fish and the rest of the school just hangs out and waits to be next!
Divers direct actually offers the best pricing I've found on the accessories, which you also need to buy duplicates of on items such as bands, cords, and shafts...carry extras, because Riffe is harder to find in remote areas and their guns require Riffe brand replacement parts to WORK from everything I've seen and been told!
ALSO...when the gun is not in use for more than a week or so, you need to REMOVE the bands, place them in a ziploc bag, and inside your refrigerator to preserve them.
I could not imagine being happier with any other purchase!
Happy Hunting!
Nice day! [@]
