Rusting Away!
By FLTEKDIVERVerified Purchaser from Melbourne, Florida on 1/22/2008
Pros:
Large Capacity
Cons:
Rust alot
Best Uses:
When you need more air
Describe Yourself:
Technical Diver
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

These tanks are not hot dip galvanzied like the XS or Sea-pearls. When you chip the paint, the rust right away. I had mine near 4 months all ready, and I can't belive how fast they rust.
I wash them down everytime, and having three sets of doubles, from XS and PST, I never had any rusting issues. These tanks will not last long if used in salt water. Save your money, and go buy the XS Worthingtons or the PST, Or Sea pearls. Take it from a experianced rebreather, cave diver.

This is a great tank. It's similar to the AL80 in size and weight, but is about 4 pounds more negative which allows you to take weight off your belt.I would buy this tank again in a heartbeat.A few things to know about this tank before buying.1.) Though Faber/Blue Steel advertises that this tank comes O2 clean, the tanks we got were filthy inside. Replacement tanks still had grease residue in the threads. So the tanks are NOT O2 clean, even if they say they are.2.) [...]ships the tank valve in a plastic bag "loose" inside the tank box. The valve bounces around during shipment and chipped the paint on the neck of one of our tanks. 3.) tank comes with a San-o-Sub valve labeled as a Blue Steel Brand. It's not as deep in threads as a Thermo Pro Valve is, so you can't use a brass DIN filler insert made for 300 bar valves. Still seems to be an Ok valve though. So inspect your tank upon receipt for the above first two issues before using it to dive with.I hope this information is helpful to everyone.

These are great tanks
By Tim Reef Research TeamVerified Purchaser from West Palm Beach, FL on 4/24/2007
Pros:
Din or Yoke Valves, Durable, Good Value, High Quality, Less weight used
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Great tank with 25% more air than an 80 and 6 lbs. less weight

Painted cylinders have rust issues
By The Dive Dude from Florida on 4/18/2007
Cons:
Low Quality
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

My Faber tanks are having major issues with rust on the outside. any nick or scratch ends up having major rust issues. Hot Dip Galvanized cylinders, like the ones from XS Scuba & Sea Pearls are much better and have a Lifetime Guarantee. Alos, the boot on this cylinder traps water and the valve is way clunky and ugly. I bought the wrong ones I guess...

Yoke Adapter for FX100Steel
By CricketHFVerified Purchaser from Jupiter, FL on 10/25/2006
Pros:
Added down time, Functional, Improves Diving Experience, Tanks look nice
Cons:
Boots move a bit, Must avoid roll to side
Best Uses:
Added down time, Recreation

The 100's have given me more bottom time. The adaptor to convert from DIN to yoke stripped when we tried to remove it and I had to buy an entire new valve[...] . Either leave it as yoke or don't put in the adapter. It is very soft and easily strips

Best tank I have ever owned!

Expensive

Nice finish, great quality, perfect boyancy.
