Expectations were too high
By Scuba SteveVerified Purchaser from Champaign, IL on 10/25/2006
Pros:
Compact, Long Bulb Life, White light
Cons:
Breaks Easily, Weak Beam
Best Uses:
Close-Up Viewing, Recreational

On my second dive of a week long liveaboard, the switch broke internally, beyond repair. I think that there is a design flaw in the trigger mechanism. Nice, clean white light, however, High Intensity was not a term that came to mind while using this light. I felt it was underpowered. I believe in the technology of the LED, no filiment to jar loose and long life.

Cutting Through Briny New England Waters
By RIR from Narragannsett Bay RI on 10/24/2006
Pros:
Battery long life, Easy grip handle, Excellent coverage area, Form fitting handle, High power low power, High visibitiy colr selec, Lightweight, White light in foggy wate
Cons:
Expensive, Lens prone to cracking, Lens prone to leaking, Over priced
Best Uses:
Night Diving New England

Ironically my Shockwave (original - non LED - 1.5 seasons) flooded as a result of the lens/crystal cracking and flooding! Obviously not enough plastic or not enough rubberized foam cushion. My dive buddy was using the Shockwave LED and I could clearly see underwater that it was a superior lamp with excellent bright coverage. It was an easy decision to buy the LED model despite the lens and crystal being suspect. (Same Lens Crystal as the original)
