Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Have used it on at least 10 dives so far and it is easy to use and very functional. The display is easy to read and see underwater. Cons: alarm is not loud enough (especially when wearing a 5-mil or thicker hood); when doing repetitive dives, there is no timer giving you the time out of the water. You have to review your logbook and note when the dive started and then add the total dive time to determine when the last dive ended. Highly recommend purchasing the crystal protector. Overall: a very functional and affordable dive computer/watch

I have used it on a number of dives, and it worked great. Its a conservative computer, which is good. The only things i don't like about it are that it scratches easily, and it is confusing trying to review old dives. Perhaps using the hookup to a personal computer would help, i haven't tried it.

Mares tutor mission

Have not used this unit,but I own the Mares tutor,and I like the idea of carrying it on my wrist rather than having it hang from my side.
